The “Ordinance on Safety and Health in provision of working equipment and its use at work, of safety during operation of installations which require supervision and the organisation of health and safety in companies, shortly calles “Ordinance on Industrial Safety” was introduced in autumn 2002 as a federal ordinance. Since then it has been modified just slightly with an amendment in December 2011. Meanwhile it is clear that there will be an entirely new ordinance which carries the official title “Regulation on Safety and Health during use of working equipment and operation of plants”.
The new Ordinance on Industrial Safety will be implemented on 1st June 2015. Some interesting facts and changes will be integrated, such as some provisions and external complementary laws. This applies for legal provisions for the operation of cranes and lifting devices for example. Significant changes will be made in the rules for individual workplace design. There the fact is taken into account that many occupational diseases are caused by unfavorable ergonomics and / or one-sided strain. The high number of serious accidents at work in the construction industry shall be counteracted by amended provisions on the working equipment used. Especially in this point the new Ordinance on Industrial Safety adds the safety efforts to reduce the number of accidents of the employers liability insurance association, for example subsidies for retrofitting of construction vehicles with modern driver assistance systems
